                         Building Bridges, February 2024

Hello PEP friends and supporters!
February Finds PEP’s Heart Full!
Today is Valentine’s Day, and there are many reasons for PEP to be so full of joy and happiness.  This past month, we have supported many students and educators.  As you read this edition, you’ll get a quick update about CORE Butte’s Esports team, learn about a local educator from Marigold Elementary, possibly have some outside environmental camp memories brought to mind, and hear about a way that you can support some students at Rosedale Elementary.
First up is a quick update about CORE Butte’s eSports team.  As you may remember, PEP provided $250 to help get their team up and running.  They have not disappointed, coming in first place in their very first competition! They are still looking for support, and if you would like to be involved in helping them get new computers and other related materials, click on this link: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/39I1F75AF2XQ5?ref_=wl_fv_le.
Second, we are finishing up our second Teacher Wishlist of the school year and this time it is for Chapman Elementary!  Each teacher has the opportunity to receive up to $200 of classroom supplies and next week I will get to deliver them to the staff.  If that isn’t enough, Beatniks Coffee House and Breakfast Joint will be giving each staff member a $10 gift card! Thank you, Beatniks, for supporting local educators! Also, a quick shout out to Tanya Quackenbush from Movement Mortgage, who will be joining me to take some photos at the delivery so we can post more about the amazing staff at Chapman.  The next big project for PEP will be providing the Teacher Wishlist for McManus Elementary.  If you are interested in providing funding for the McManus staff, please head over to our website and donate at pepschools.org.
This past month, we got to put a spotlight on Brittany Smith, a 2nd grade teacher at Marigold Elementary. WOW, what a difference she is making at Marigold in her 2nd graders lives!  Check out our Blog page to find out about this spunky educator! https://www.pepschools.org/blog/brittany-smit
Lastly, the 5th grade students at Rosedale Elementary are raising funds to go to an outside environmental camp and they are still in need of funding.  I’m sure that many of our readers attended camp as kids and probably have some great memories!  PEP encourages you to think about donating to the cause so these 5th graders can experience the great outdoors and make their own memories.  You can donate at Rosedale’s office at 100 Oak St., Chico, CA 95928, call their office at (530) 891-3104 or email me at todd@pepschools.org and I can help make sure they get the donation and save you a trip.
It is PEP’s heart to support as many students and educators as we can!  Thank you for your continued support; without it, we would not be able to make the impact that we are making.  If you have not supported PEP financially but would like to, please click on the link below to find out more. It will take you to our website, where you can give through our “fee-free” donation link.
We are blessed to have such dedicated educators in Butte County, as well as such a wonderful support base! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
Bridge Builder,
Todd
