Hello! My name is Ashley Stark. My husband Zach (also a teacher) and I have been married for 8 years and have two young school aged children, one in TK and one second grader. We also have a cat and a Springer Spaniel puppy, Dodger! Life is BUSY… but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We moved to Chico from Southern California 10 years ago to pursue our credential programs and be closer to my extended family. Since I was a little girl, I always knew I wanted Chico to one day be my home. As a family we enjoy camping, the beach, and watching our kids and professional teams play the sports we love. (Go Dodgers!)

I have been lucky enough to call Oroville City Elementary School District “home” for nearly 10 years now. I started my career as an Education Specialist for an Autism program and ventured out into 3rd grade general education in 2019 in hopes of providing even more students with the love, support and special education background I could provide.  I currently teach 5th grade at Wyandotte Academy and am so blessed to say I LOVE every single moment of it.  My background in special education has been a major asset in the classroom & I use that knowledge and skill set daily. I can’t even begin to describe how much my students have impacted me not only as a teacher, but as a human being. They make me better.

In order to learn, students need to know they’re valued and cared for. This school year I really want to continue building a close knit classroom family that focuses on using any prior trauma or hardship to propel us forward, and not hold us back. We are better together. We are stronger together, and we can do hard things…. TOGETHER. I love my StarkSquad and can’t wait to watch them (and me) grow this year.
