Hello!  My name is Renata Hamblet.  I was born and raised in Paradise, CA, but have lived in Redding, the Bay Area and Los Angeles.  I’ve been married to my husband Ben for thirteen years and together we have two beautiful daughters; Byrdie (third grade) and Rowan (first grade).  Fun fact: I’ve taught both of my daughters in first grade!  We also have a two year old Goldendoodle named Crosby!  We moved to Chico five years ago to be closer to family and haven’t looked back!  So thankful for this wonderful community.

I majored in Liberal Studies at Simpson University with the intention of becoming a teacher right after college. However, a great job offer drew me to the corporate retail world where I worked in the buying offices at both Macys and Pottery Barn.  Years later, I realized that teaching was still a passion that I had to pursue.  I went back to school and got my teaching credential and since then have led classrooms in Los Angeles and Marin County at the preschool through fifth grade levels!  Currently I’m teaching first grade at Achieve Charter School in Chico and could not be happier!

The beginning of the school year is a magical time!  It is filled with hopes and aspirations.  Students eagerly anticipate the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.  My hope is to nurture not just academic growth but also a love of learning.  Above all else, I want my students to know that they are loved, we are a team, we are a family.  And together, we can achieve great things!
