Building Bridges, May 2024

Staff members received approximately $4000 in classroom resources!
We love our community partners!

Hello PEP friends and supporters!

PEP Honors Schools

As many of you know, Spring is often a time of year when families show their appreciation to educators. This Spring is no different!  Due to the generous donations that we have received from you, we were not only able to provide the Teacher Wishlist opportunity to McManus School, but were also able to provide coffee and treats to Chapman Elementary.

If you follow our social media, you have been watching as we worked towards fundraising for the McManus Teacher Wishlist.  I’m thankful to say that we were able to provide approximately $4,000 for teachers to purchase $200 for their classrooms!  Additionally, we partnered with local Chico coffee shop Sweet Beans to give gift cards to every staff member.  We received so many thank-yous and pictures of staff members with the resources they received, with some already being used by their students!  It was so much fun to provide the resources and see them being used to support academic achievement.

In honor of Staff Appreciation Day last week, PEP partnered with Bidwell Perk and Crumbl Cookies.  A big thank you to Tao, owner of Bidwell Perk and Jon, owner of the Chico Crumbl Cookies store for honoring our educators!

I want to leave you with some comments that local educators have shared with me over the past month:

"My staff loved the cookies and coffee today! Thank you again for your support and coordination to make the sweet treats happen." Chapman Elementary

"Thank you for all of the donations. My students next year will be using these pencil boxes and the supplies inside all day, every day." McManus Elementary

"What a nice surprise--I love Crumbl cookies!"  Oroville City Elementary School District

“Your generosity for our school community is greatly appreciated. I can't begin to thank you enough. You have truly been such an amazing community partner. You give me hope!” McManus Elementary

It is responses like this that keep me going, and I hope they do the same for you!  We have a unique opportunity to impact the future by impacting the educators who are teaching and nurturing them to be the best citizens they can be.  Thank you for partnering with me!

Please take a minute to think of an educator, be it a teacher, campus supervisor, cafeteria worker, administrator, office staff, custodian, paraprofessional, or any of the other educational positions found on a campus.  I encourage you to send them a note or call them and thank them for the important work they are doing.
